I'm starting this blog as a way for friends, family, and curious strangers to keep up with my life once I move out of my home state and to Washington D.C. I did this while I was studying abroad in Paris during my junior year, and it really worked out quite well. I'm hoping similar magic (or even better magic, for that matter) will occur this time around.
I want to start by posting a little about myself:
-I'm a college senior at the University of Alabama.
-I'm going to graduate in two weeks.
-In August, I will be heading to D.C. for law school.
-I have yet to find a place to live. This terrifies me.
-My family is Peruvian, which is my favorite of their qualities.
-I was raised in Birmingham, Alabama.
-No, Southerners are not as stereotypical as you would think.
-No, being raised in the South has not persuaded me to love American football.
-Yes, I have encountered forms of discrimination, but this does not limit my love for the South.
-I speak Spanish fluently and am working on being fluent in French.
-I love cats.
During the summer, I will be preparing for my big move and thinking about how I will use this blog. Once I am settled in DC, I will begin to make posts. I don't know if anyone will ever read this blog, but if anything it will be benefit myself and my sanity while I go through the infamous 1L.
See you in August.
